This is a study for “To Taste of Spring,” a small vignette in which a bird looks hopefully into a frozen pond with fall leaves imbedded in ice. The bird longs for the spring, as he looks quizzically at the leaves frozen into the water. In this sculpture, I wanted to create a mood through gesture and color.
