As so many people are, I am inspired by popular music. Music inspires art and art inspires music. A fan of Peter Paul and Mary since the 1960’s, I remember the days that inspired the hit song written by Bob Dylan in 1962 “Blowing in the Wind”. Peter Paul and Mary popularized the song and its timeless lyrics. My work is an interpretation of the hit song for today. A cast glass dove having a green leaf fly’s on a oil painted board with the words from the song as if they are blowing in a wind. White daisy’s grown in my garden and photographed in black and white are floating on top of the words to the iconic tune. A collage of glass oil painting, photography and music. “How many seas must a white dove sail, Before she sleeps in the sand? The answer is blowing in the wind.
