I began to think of nature as a cycle and I wanted to capture that cycle in glass. “Life Cycle Puzzle” depicts the life of a bird from egg to its last remains. I wanted to show how even a bird dissolves back to nature, disappearing into the forest floor. I cast this work in three pieces that fit together like a puzzle. It is like the bits and pieces of nature that all fit together. I hope to make more “nature puzzles” because I see everything as a cycle fitting perfectly together.
